Senior Accountant
The Senior Brand Accountant is responsible for the preparation of reconciliations, review of journal entries, analysis and review of General Ledger activities, and supporting all internal and external reporting needs in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Prepares periodic reconciliations, roll forwards, and various account analyses.
- Prepares flux analysis on concept-level Financial Statements.
- Prepares financial reporting requests for 10Q/K and internal/external audit.
- Assists in development and implementation of new accounting policies and procedures.
- Performs certain control activities and works with internal auditors to ensure SOX compliance.
- Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data in SAP (ECC & BPC).
- Performs research, including general ledger and accounting pronouncements.
- Identifies opportunities for process improvements.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Communication with Internal and External Auditors.
- Provides accounting support to Managers and Directors in the Accounting department.
- Ad hoc requests and projects as necessary
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance, CPA or MBA preferred
- 5-7 years related accounting experience
Experience/Skills:
- Solid understanding of GAAP accounting
- Possesses strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills
